PRESS RELEASE: 7TH MARCH 2016
World rights to Unboxed was acquired by Barrington Stoke Editor Emma Baker from Jane Finigan of Lutyens & Rubinstein.
Unboxed features a brilliantly diverse cast of characters who will face heartbreak and home truths as they return to their old school and discover that no one can ever truly go back. It will be published in a beautiful, collectible and super-readable edition (£6.99 paperback) on 15th August 2016.
Mairi Kidd, MD of Barrington Stoke, says of the new acquisition: “We’ve known and loved Non since her days as a fellow Bounce publisher and have followed her success in the YA market and on the prize lists with great pleasure. Her voice is really special and we are so happy to publish Unboxed. It’s stunning.”
Non Pratt adds: “Stories matter to me because they give a window into other people’s lives – how they think and feel – and Barrington Stoke is a publisher that ensures those windows are wide enough to admit everyone. For years I’ve fangirled over their list, promoted books to parents at the school gate and handsold copies to strangers in shops, so it is ridiculously exciting that they’re actually letting me write one.”
Jane Finigan said: “I’m delighted that Non is teaming up with the brilliant people at Barrington Stoke and think Unboxed is a particularly special book.”
